The Victorian conservatory is defined by three instantly recognisable features: a curved, multi-faceted bay front, a steeply pitched glazed roof, and decorative ridge detailing. The bay typically comes in a three or five-facet configuration, which creates a distinctive rounded front that lets in light from multiple angles.
Unlike the flat-fronted Edwardian style, the Victorian design draws the eye with its ornate profile. Decorative crestings and finials sit along the roof ridge, adding period charm that complements both Victorian-era terraces and newer builds equally well.
Do Victorian conservatories suit modern homes?

The Victorian style works on modern properties because the curved bay breaks up flat, uniform frontages, adding depth and detail that a rectangular extension often lacks.
